Last weekend I visited Budapest with my friend Natalia and we stayed at the amazing Corinthia Budapest. When we arrived to the hotel about 8 a.m., we were welcomed by the most friendly staff and it turned out that one of our rooms is ready to check-in.
The Exclusive Suite I stayed in was absolutely stunning! It has a massive living room, two separate bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe. In my opinion, it is not just the room - it is a piece of art. A perfect combination of modern furniture with beautiful wooden floors. I love the neutral shades of taupe and light grey walls, contrasted by flashes of jewel tones from furnishings. In addition, the stunning glass panel that makes the room homely, spacious and airy. Not mentioning about personalized letter with Royal welcome, fresh flowers, welcome champagne and delicious chocolates.
When we refresh after a long journey, we had a delicious buffet breakfast at Brasserie and Atrium. They have a wide selection of fruits and juices, yogurts, cereals, cheese platters delicatessen cold cuts, fresh bread and pastries, hot meals and freshly brewed coffee and tea. I ordered my favourite brekkie - omelet with veggies and cheese. Yummy!
After breakfast, we spoiled ourselves with the Royal Spa. A swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna made our day. Especially the atmosphere of this place and the fact it was first opened in 1886!
Although we were a bit tired after a long trip, we decided to take a walk by the romantic River Danube and visit the Parliament building and Saint Stephen’s Basilica. Then we went to see a sunset from Gellert Hill. It was almost an hour walk but it was absolutely worth it. Look at these beautiful colors! <3
Next day, since I got cold on my way to Budapest, I decided to stay and chill at the hotel. Thanks to Executive Club provided by Corinthia Hotel (read more about Exclusive Club here), I can’t say I was bored. I could use their spa, library, international newspapers and TV. In the afternoon, we went for a snack and afternoon tea. Natalia spoiled herself with a glass of champagne ;)
We couldn't resist to take some pictures in my suite. I really like this parisian vibe and the window view.
Last evening, we had a dinner at Brasserie & Atrium restaurant. We start with a quinoa and soft cheese salad with beetroot dressing and classic French onion soup with Gruyère cheese. I am not a big fun of onion soup but this one was really good. Since portions were pretty decent, we decided to share a vegetarian main dish - whole grain rye pappardelle with butternut squash, savoy cabbage, crispy garlic and pumpkin seeds. And side of cauliflower with cheese and roasted vegetables. Honestly, probably the best meal I’ve ever had in my life!
Then we had french chocolate & pistachio tart and salted caramel apple pie for dessert. Absolutely amazing!
What makes Corinthia Budapest special is not only the amazing interior and food but most importantly the staff and atmosphere. I used to work in hospitality and I really do pay attention to customer service when I stay in hotels and go to a restaurant. This time, we really felt there like at home. The customer service in this hotel is outstanding and very friendly. They were helpful every time we had any questions or requests. I highly recommend staying at Corinthia Hotel Budapest.
I will definitely come back there, when I am in Budapest again.
