There is no doubt that Bali is
one of the most photogenic islands in the world. Amazing waterfalls, mountains,
rice paddies, palm trees and crystal-blue ocean make this place a favorite holiday
spot. Bali is a destination so captivating that it is no wonder why so many
travelers are left endlessly charmed.
There are so many places in Bali that literally
scream #vacationgoals and #instaworthy! And while I don’t believe in the idea
of travelling just for the pictures, I do believe everyone wants to capture beautiful
moments and have amazing photos to look back on.
This is why I decided to create a
list of my top spots in Bali to help guide you on your journey. Hope you enjoy
it!

1. TEGALALANG RICE TERRACES, UBUD
The most popular Rice Terraces in
Bali located close to Ubud. They are absolutely lush and beautiful.
Tegalalalang Rice Fields are huge part of Balinese culture and one of the most
popular tourist attractions. I really enjoyed walking up and down the terraces,
catching the rising sun and having a morning coffee overlooking this stunning
view.
I recommend to visit this place
very early morning (sunrise is the best!;) before it gets crowded.
2. LOVE BALI SIGN, UBUD
That’s pretty funny that a simple
metal sign became so famous. I probably wouldn’t go there if it was far away
but apparently it lays amongst the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. So if you’re
heading that way, you should definitely stop by.
3. CAMPUHAN RIDGE WALK, UBUD
4. TUKAD CEPUNG
Tukad Cepung Waterfall is a
magnificent waterfall within a small cave system. The light shafts coming from
the cave opening creates a truly magical atmosphere. It is one of the most
unusual waterfalls I have ever seen. If you came very early in the morning, you
might even get this spot to yourself.
5. HANDARA & RESORT BALI GATES,
BEDEGUL
I would never say that one of the
most photogenic gates in Bali is the entrance to a…golf course. Hardara Golf
& Resort is located in the North of Bali around the Bedugul area. I passed
through this place early morning on the way to the waterfalls and I had the whole place
for myself. Although later that day on the way back I saw a tent with a
security guard at the entrance charging for the tickets so be prepared to pay
an entrance fee.
6. WANAGIRI HIDDEN HILLS BALI SWING,
MUNDUK
If you don’t want to spend about 40$
for a day trip to most famous swing located in Ubud, I would suggest you to
check out Wanagiri Hidden Hills. This stunning spot is getting more and more
popular because of its dreamy vibe and… the price. Entrances range from 20,000
– 40,000 IDR per person. My friend negotiated a price 20,000 IDR for all
attractions including a nest, a swing and a bamboo lookout.
7. LA BRISA BALI, CANGGU
La Brisa a pretty new bar in
Canggu. I’m not a big fan of the parties and bars but this place stole my
heart. It is truly magical and nautical, boatwood vibes and prime location
overlooking the waves of Echo Beach make it a perfect sunset spot.
La Brisa serves mainly seafood,
tropical juices, wines and beers. You are required to spend at least 150 000
IDR per person for dine in. However, if the weather doesn’t permit, then there is
no minimum payment. In my opinion, the prices are a bit exaggerated but the
view like this it’s worth every penny!
8. CAFÉ ORGANIC, CANGGU
If you’re looking for the Instagrammable
cafe in Bali, Café Organic is your spot. This place is full of surfers, insta
models, and any celebrities visiting Bali. It’s super cozy, spacious and offers
one of the best breakfasts in Bali. My favourites are smoothie bowls and
cocktails.
9. LOCAL FRUIT MARKETS
Fruit markets are the most
colorful places in Bali. You can find them on almost every corner and buy some
local fruits and veggies. They are usually cheaper than in supermarkets, super
yummy and they look amazing in the pictures!
10. T-REX ISLAND & KELINGKING
BEACH, NUSA PENIDA
T-Rex Island is framed by
towering, steep cliffs, turquoise blue waters further embraced by white sand.
It’s absolutely my favourite place in Nusa Penida.
I recommend visiting from 7 to 9
AM. The first tourists, coming by boat on a Nusa Penida Tour will start arriving
from 9 AM.
11. THE RUMAH POHON TREEHOUSE, NUSA
PENIDA
One of the most magical
treehouses I’ve ever seen in my life. My childhood dream about having a
treehouse came true (at least for a couple of minutes). <3
12. ATUH BEACH, NUSA PENIDA
Atuh Beach is a white-sand beach
that is great for a swim. On top of the cliff is the view for amazing Diamond
Beach. This is one of those beaches you will only see on postcards. However it’s
not recommended for swimming because of many rocks and corals in the waves.
13. CRYSTAL BAY
If you want to swim, snorkel or
just relax on Penida, Crystal Bay is your place! Hanging around for a sunset is
definitely worth the wait. If you’re lucky enough to get some colours, it will
be one of your lasting memories on Nusa Penida!
14. ENTRANCE TO W HOTEL, SEMINYAK
This path discovered my friend
from Bali and it turned out it’s the entrance to W Hotel in Seminyak. It’s all
bamboo and it looks really impressive, isn’t it?;)
15. BALI’S MOST FAMOUS TEMPLE, MUNDUK
This temple complex, called
Temple Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, is built at the Tamblingan Lake. The temple and
lake are surrounded by mountains scenery which makes it super picturesque. I
wasn’t very lucky with the weather. As soon as I got there it started raining so
I didn’t take any nice pictures but I watched the praying ceremony and had a
chat with locals which was awesome.
Check some pictures on Instagram
to see how beautiful this place is.
16. BANYUMALA WATERFALL MUNDUK
Banyumala twin waterfall is located
between Munduk and the main highway from Singaraja to Denpasar. Despite its
incredible natural beauty, Banyumala waterfall it’s not so popular as Gitgit
waterfall. Although it’s not a secret waterfall in Bali, if you’re lucky you
will have the whole place to yourself as so few tourists make the effort to
visit.
17. GIT GIT WATERFALL, MUNDUK
The Gitgit waterfall it’s a bit
different than other waterfalls in Bali. I would say it’s more mysterious, pretty
narrow and surrounded by trees and rocks formations. It consists of three
waterfalls of different heights – the first one being Twin Waterfall, the
second one is a continuation of the Twin Waterfall and is sixty meters high,
the third waterfall is known as the Waterfall Story. Visitors are allowed to
swim in the cool waters of the pool to relax after a picturesque hike to the
waterfall.
The entrance fee is IDR 5000,
which isn’t too bad!
18. ROADS IN BALI
There are many roads in Bali that
look fabulous. Just rent a scooter and enjoy the view of palm trees, blue sky
and impressive temples.
20. PURA LEMPUANG TEMPLE
Last but not least, it’s the
temple I haven’t seen yet but looks spectacular in the pictures. Look at this!
I hope I’ll visit it when I am in Bali next time.
